Wrinkle Removal Treatment by Dr Chytra V Anand

To start with, let me say something which is a fact- Wrinkles are inevitable. As we age, our cells lose their capacity to rejuvenate but both the internal and external damage keep happening still. Now for all practical purposes, aging defines any sign which shows that our skin isn’t youthful anymore. For some, aging shows in forms of fine lines and eventually results in skin sag, for other wrinkles show up and then there are those few whose skin remains intact till the ages of say 60 and then it just sags.
Let us first understand how the aging happens. So, our body generates collagen- a protein responsible for maintaining our skin health and also for all the rejuvenation that needs to be done when the skin gets damaged.
It is because of collagen production that our skin remains supple and smooth. Now, as we age, our bodily functions become slow and the one that takes a hit earliest is the collagen production. This results in our skin aging and wrinkles forming.
Another factor that contributes to wrinkle formation is the continuous muscle movement which tires the skin tissues over time. Lack of adequate hydration also results in an early onset of fine lines and wrinkles

Now, coming to what can be done to contain these wrinkle and fine lines:
The first is to ensure that the skin remains adequately hydrated. Inclusion of citrus fruits which contain Vitamin C and veggies such as tomato will not just fight the daily damage but also boost the skin’s immunity and keep it healthy
The second would be to follow regular skin maintenance procedures which include anti aging Medifacials and deep tissue massages. Both of these improve the blood flow to these regions thus maintaining the suppleness

The aforementioned were more about delaying aging or the onset of wrinkles. But, what when they are there already?
In such a case, the answer lies in Botox and Dermal Fillers. While fillers can be helpful in reducing the obviousness of the fine lines, Botox actually helps in reducing or removing wrinkles.

Botox is essentially a neurotoxin derived from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. If given in adequate amount, botox paralyses the muscles of the area where it is administered, thus preventing aging and occurrence of wrinkles.

The most important thing to be considered while taking up either of fillers or Botox as a wrinkle removal treatment is to ensure that your practitioner has adequate experience of injecting these.
This is because, if done wrong, they can significantly distort your face.
